text sms not working

activated a new sim card. sms is not working. can call out but can not receive calls.

@enzo671   Have you tried restarting the phone?  If that doesn't work contact customer service.  You can open a ticket via the chat icon bottom right of this page but if that doesn't work send support a private message using this link

Watch for a reply at the envelope icon top right of this page or, if no envelope, tap your avatar for Messages.  Response time is a bit slower than usual at the moment but they should be able to help.

yes this is a new account... not porting from other provider.

@enzo671 how long ago did you initiate the port, and to confirm, did you respond "YES" to an email from your old provider? It typically take 1 to 2 hours for porting to complete and restarting the phone often helps get things going.

If you did respond YES within 90 minutes and you have been waiting for a very long time you will need to open a ticket through the Chatbot: https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
(and then type: Customer Support Agent)

@enzo671   Is this a new account and you're porting your number from another provider, or are you an existing customer who just got a new sim card for some reason?
