how do i get in contact with a human ??

How long ago did you activate? Try putting your old SIM back in again to see if you will still get the text. Who is your old provider?

That is Porting team, they will tell you the porting status and advise what to do (likely they will re-trigger the SMS but you have to have your OLD SIM in a phone to receive the text)

 

Also, in your case, you don't have to change to 3G Only , that wont work for you at this stage

i never got a text asking to approve the port . what should i do now ?

@baillierose1   Yes, that is normal until the porting is completed

 

Have you receive a text from your old provider asking you to approve the port? you need to reply YES within 90 mins.  have you done so?

 

If not, let us know, you need to call to re-trigger the process

 

If yes, then, just keep reboot your phone every 15 mins , it should be good within 2 hours

Make sure that you have the old sim card in your phone when you're porting your phone. You should get a message from your old carrier asking to confirm if you would like to port your number. Your reply should be: YES.

 

The confirmation message can take a few minutes to come in. You have 90 minutes from the time of request.

 

or can you try it selecting the network to "3G ONLY"

if you still not working do one thing Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,

and do rebooting your phone take your SIM card out and waiting for a 2 minute and put it back and turn on -This one is quick and simple.

 

what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

 

or can you do try reseat the SIM card

1. power off your device

2. take out the SIM card,

3. wipe it clean SIM card,

4. put it back and power on,

5. toggling airplane mode off/on,  

 

and do again Rebooting your phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

i activated a sim card today and transferred a phone number over . all seems to be working except all incoming calls go directly to voicemail

No, Public Mobile support is all online.  You can open a ticket with them.

 

But I dont' want to  just forward you over to them just yet.  Cos the reason for the Community is to try to help you quicker without opening ticket..  You want to share you issue?
