Once you're away from Canada, your Public Mobile services (talk/text/data) won't work unless you have a plan for US / Mexico. (You'll never be billed for roaming or anything )There are no other countrys where you can roam.

you can keep the roaming on and it won't work if PM does not have the roaming service there.  Even in US or Mexico, it won't work if you don't have the proper roaming plan/add-ons

Sorry, Public Mobile only offers in Mexico or USA with those plans or add-ons. 

Outside of that, your phone will not work for text messages,  or calls. You will only be able connect to the internet via wifi.

So you have to make alternative arrangements for phone such as purchasing a travel eSIM for the country you are visiting.

PM has only roaming add-on for US and no other countries
