Right! I have seen it before and i have no idea why someone from the mod team do that. We will be on a call next week and i will try to bring this up to them.

Sorry @CS_Agent I need to call you out on this post.
Did you read the question? It was asking about porting out and keeping the old account active. I am pretty sure it was answered already twice by @wetcoaster.
Why are you asking people to send you private messages when the question is already answered. Or if you know the answer is no why not simply say so instead of asking the poster to send you a message and wait 48-73 hours for the same answer.
There are other posts in the forum (people without service) that I think deserve more attention (if you are going to browse the forum),even a just a we see your message and will contact you shortly. @

OP signed up here on that date. That does not mean he/she activated at that time.

@Han_15 wrote:What the person above say is true. However since that there is a promotion going on right now, you can port your current number to another carrier and change your email address at this account. Then go to walmart or other supported stores and get a new sim card which will be free and there you can get yourself a new phone number as well.
Nope, the port out will close the existing account. You will need to make changes to the account, including removal of credit card info and change of e-mail address, before the port.
Also, you can only get an in-market plan with the flash sale going on this weekend.
(I'm assuming that the OP is on something like the Fall 2016 $120/12GB/90 days promo and want to keep that because they like spreading out their data over 90 days... It's the only rational explanation I have.)

Sure that is possible, but if OP's current Public Mobile account is attached to a grandfathered plan, OP will not be able to get that same plan on a new account.

Unfortunately you will need to choose between keeping the account and keeping your number by porting.
If you port your number to a different carrier your according account will be closed.
If you choose a new number for your existing (grandfathered?) account, which you can do yourself in your self serve account, you will loose the existing number that you are replacing.
If those changes are initiated by you policy prevents moderators to do number swaps between Public Mobile accounts unless it's a glitch caused by 0ublic Mobile back-end system.
