I bought an Alcatel Go Flip phone for use in medical emergencies with my elderly parents. I didn't like the Virgin Mobile plans so I bought a Public Mobile Sim card (the phone is unlocked). The phone worked with other sim cards in the store. I assumed it was compatible and activated the phone, and nothing is happening. Then I checked the compatibility list and it's not on the list. I can't return the sim card, and really want only the 15$ Public Mobile plan. Is there anything I can do? Thanks. Yolande

Turn off your phone, remove SIM, and wait couple minutes, then insert SIM, turn on phone. If still doesn't work then
Try the lost/stolen trick
To report your phone stolen. Login to your account. Choose Plans and Add-on tab. Then choose Lost/Stolen Phone tab. Then choose Suspend Service tab. Logout. Wait few minutes. Login in and report your phone found. Restart your phone.

Nothing at all on the phone. Card is activated, properly inserted as is the battery. PHone worked in the store where I bought the card (this morning), bought the card, took it home, went through the whole activation process with no trouble. Screen is blank.

@ybmennie What do you mean that nothing is happening? Did you activate your sim? Is account active? Could you try the sim in other phone to check whether or not there is an issue with the phone but not with a sim?

Thanks. In that case, I will go back to the store that sold me the card to see if it's the card not working.
