Download the PM app on your new phone.  Login into your self service account.   Then purchase an eSIM. If first time for eSIM, you will need to pay $5.  Then eSIM will be installed in your new phone.

you can easily change to an eSIM and keep your phone number and account.  Many community members upgraded to eSIM only iPhone and are doing the same

To buy eSIM for your new phone,  download the PM app on your new iPhone and login. It will send you a 2FA via text and you should be able to receive that on your old phone with the physical sim. Just in case, you have problem with receiving 2FA code, click "Didn't Receive code" or "Resend code" and choose either Send email or Send voice message

After logged in, Click Account  > Purchase sim card> eSIM.

Once it confirms your phone is eSIM compatible, click Pay $ and Install and follow the steps to install the eSIM
