setting up a new account with number transfer with brand new public sim card and after the final step I got this reply..Please HELP.
Tried again and now says invalid sim card
Oh no!
It looks like something went wrong, but don’t panic.
Log out and then log back in again to continue. Or return to the Login Page.

@Jack check to see if your credit card was charged. If it was insert your SIM into your phone and try to log into your self service account. If it says it doesn't exist, and your phone works, create one. https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/self-registration/
If it wasn't, wait 50 minutes from last attempt, clear your browser history, go to private/ incognito mode and try again to activate your SIM card.

First check if your credit card was charged. If it was charged, then put in your SiM card to see whether it was activated.
If not charged, you can try again. Maybe wait 30-45 minutes. Website can be finicky. Clear cache or go incognito mode. Chrome incognito seems to work well.
