In addition the suggestions of the above users, you should consider delisting your credit card to prevent any further unauthorized actions from occurring.

However, a very nice positive about Public Mobile is that you can't go over your bill and be charged thousands for anyone who has been using your phone the past couple days. Public Mobile is heaven sent when it comes to this exact situation you're facing and it must definitely feel good to know your wallet is fine despite your lost phone!

Best,
Alex

Do the suspend service and then buy a new sim and change the sim on My Account. You might have to first un-suspend, logically. Then your lost phone is not usable, network wise. Then use a spare unlocked and compatible phone from you or a friend with the new Sim. You won’t miss a beat. Then when you declare your phone as, never to show up, buy what you like and move the SIM. Then in the next day or so...the lost one will  show up 🥴🥴

Voicemail works like normal. Phone does not ring it goes immeadiately to voicemail. Callers can leave messages. You can check messages, delete, save, leave as new and you can change your message/greeting. Haven't tried to do anything else but it functions as intended.

Will the phone ring when Lost/Stolen is toggled to Suspend ? My guess is it would not ring...am I rong ?

LOLZ  that's funny @hairbag1 🤣

If you are not in possession of your phone ( or using it if you have it) and you suspend your service via lost/stolen your voicemail continues to work. I have confirmed this with the bf's phone/service. Checked his messages yesterday.

So, if you can check for the messages, do you know if others can actually leave messages? If not, that's kind of pointless.

While suspended you can still call your voicemail to hear messages. Dial your phone #, once picked up press * and enter your voicemail pin code. You can briefly unsuspend your service to use "find my phone" app. Call it. Send a text message ( offer a reward for its return? Leave a call back phone #.)Maybe someone has found it....try this for a few more days. After 5 minutes suspend your service again. You can do this til your 30 days are up. Voicemail will continue to work. Best of luck.

When service is supsended, I would not expect voicemail to work.  Have you tried this?

@franco444

Follow @computergeek541 advice. Using lost/stolen will stop your phone from having service. It does not cancel your current 30 days of service but will prevent it from renewing via account balance or autopay. Once you find your phone or acquire a new one and new sim card you can resume your service or renew for a new 30 days of service.

You wouldn't really need to cancel your number. You could just go to selfserve.publicmobile.ca , click on the Plans and Add-ons tab, and use the lost/stolen function.  After you've purchased a new sim card and new phone, you can resume using your service (and phone number).
