what any of us do is before leaving canada we forward our calls to a voip fongo.com account. that way you will receive any calls via thier app when you are on wifi or data with local sim. for android there are also a couple sms forwarding apps, but they require your sim to be left in a phone in canada to work.
@ashunandal you have unlocked phone, best to pick up local sim or use WiFi calling APP, why bother paying Arms and Legs to providers now a day, my 2 cents
