incoming call for data only US roaming (1G)

I am currently in the US already and I purchased the data only (1G) U.S. roaming add on. I just found out my phone can still receive incoming call. I didn't answer it because I don't know how much would the incoming call cost for U.S. roaming. Does anyone know the answer besize MODs?

Thanks,

Daniel

@srlawren

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. I figured that was probably how it worked, but was a little worried to do so without checking first. Thanks again.

And yup, I did both steps of the purchase and see it in my account. Definitely a good call-out though, as I can certainly see how somebody might think they added it when they first only added the funds to their account.

Also good on the 10 day from the time added thing. Thanks again 🙂

@DBGPublic nothing special should be required.  Make sure you have data while roaming turned on on your phone--many people including myself have this off most of the time, primarily out of habit.  If your phone doesn't connect automatically, you may need to manually choose the AT&T or T-Mobile network to get signal.  You will receive text messages, don't panic, but won't be able to respond without purchasing a US roaming texting option.  You should not receive or be able to place any calls without a US roaming calling option, though a few have had calls come in.  I believe that's a glitch.  However, you never have to worry about being billed after the fact with PM, there are never any surprise charges since it's entirely prepaid.

Enjoy your trip!

EDIT: two things I forgot to mention:  #1, did you complete both steps of the purchase?  Do you actually see the US Roaming Data in your add-ons now?  Secondly, do note that the clock started ticking when you made the purchase, not when you first cross over.  So, if you bought the roaming add-on in advance, keep that in mind.

Hi there. Sorry to  dig up an old thread; but I figured it's better than starting a new one. I purchased the 1GB US data only add on. Can somebody confirm the process to use it? Do I just leave my phone as is when I cross the border? Or do I need to do anything special to avoid roaming charges for phone service? Thanks in advance.

@daniel_tang must have been a weird glitch that the call got through to you--it certainly should not have.  🙂

Since this is a pre-paid service, you will not pay anything later on. If you didn't get the US talk add-on, you shouldn't receive any calls there.

There is no pay per use for roaming in USA.  It just rings.

Are  you sure it isnt from using your data?
