Hello,
I recently purchased an iPhone 8 from Public Mobile. Within 3 weeks the screen has gone black. The phone has not been damaged in any way. Please help.

It sounds like a system crash on the phone. Try doing a hard reboot by pressing the up volume button then the volume down button and finally press and hold the power button until you see the Apple logo.
If that didn't work then contact a CS_Agent for an exchange or refund.

Luckily you are within the 30 days so you can just return for a refund and not have to jump through the hoops of the warranty and repairs etc. So get on that right away so you don't miss any deadlines.
