@CountyDownIeUk- Nope. I guess I'm not worthy. Thank you for that. I'll stop suggesting it.

@Tara7  - If you're still figuring out how to contact the support people then there's another way to stop the account. Call 1-855-4pu-blic and enter the phone number and you'll get a recording saying when the next renewal is. Then if you have access to the credit card login then you can pause the card the evening before the date given. Then restart it mid-day on that day. This will stop the payment from happening and eventually the account will disappear.

Never been an executor before? Or done probate?

So one thing that happens quickly is a death certificate.

That will shut down your drivers license, provincial ID, provincial medical card and I do believe that it will shut down the federal pensions like CPP OAS GIS and access to CRA.

An obituary is no longer required and if one is done.....it should be brief without whole lot of details that can exactly identify the deceased. Say if you live in a small town with a local paper...the FIs will review obituaries and shut down your bank accounts. And brief information makes less chance of identity theft and the FI shutting down any accounts.  But the executor needs time to review all  accounts to identify all debts, loans and credits and pull those PDF records for the 7 year period of records being available. They may find other services to cancel as well. An executor would leave bank account alive to pay for any auto pay set ups. Once you go to an FI they then move all funds to an estate account....leaving no online access to estate or the regular accounts or the ATM debit cards. . Best to park to gain no interest. Credit cards are last on list as they should be gathered and locked up. Then later cancelled as most credit cards companies make you jump through hoops to change address or cancel.

Other executors may do differently.

HI @Tara7

Sorry for your loss , my condolences.

To try to get into My Account , try to open ticket by messaging them, it is easier that way:

                https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM's CS Agent

And the credit card method offered above will also work if you don't need the number, and if you have access to the credit card.

Sorry to hear. Some people here don't understand your request or understand the steps that an executor takes and when they decide to take them.

Use this link and better explain your issue.

Like reason and phone number and any other info..like the email linked to the account if you know.

Then watch your Community Account for a response in the envelope as pictured below.

Again, and from me, sorry for your loss. Often credit cards get closed down by someone in the family or an executor soon after death. That will cause the account to be unpaid at the next renewal. Then it suspends. Then after another while it will fully deactivate.

Is there anything else you wanted to do with the account or number? Also, someone here might be interested to take the account over if it's on an old system here. But that requires access to the account which may be your current difficulty anyway.

Very sorry for your loss @Tara7 .

Is there a question that the Community may be able to assist with? Like discontinuing the account, or accessing your dad's online account, etc.

Public Mobile Representatives customer support agents (CSA) can be contacted by either two methods, found here:
