I would like to take over my father's wireless line but the account and number says it is now suspended. I would like to know how I could still retain the number and how to go through this process. I know I would still have to continue paying for the number but I would just prefer keeping the number.

As long as the suspension is less than 90 days and you have the account password, you should be able to do it.

Log in to your father 's account using his email address and password. If you had canceled his credit card, the payments would have stopped and the account would be suspended. You could add your credit card. You could also change the name of the account and even change the email address within the app. 

If the account has been suspended for more than 90 days, the telephone number will be permanently lost.

Sorry to hear of your loss. There may be some additional options for you to get the account re-instated. You can dial 1-855-478-2542 from another phone to top up the account with a credit card. If the account hasn't been suspended for more than 90 days, that should get the account going again. You also have the option to purchase a top-up from one of these locations and add the funds with *611 from the same phone with the SIM card in it. You may be able to port out to a different carrier if you can't access the account or e-mail address with the IMEI from the phone (dial *#06# on the phone), but I wouldn't guarantee being able to port without the account number (Public Mobile can port in with the IMEI). Hopefully a kind agent will be able to help you sort things out to reset the login.

Condolences, if you are wanting to just keep the number and are not planning to use the phone much.

I would suggest you port your father’s number over to the Koodo prepaid plan for $100/year. This will allow you to have 400 minutes of calling/year and texting.

But the account must be active to port over to Koodo so you will need to make a manual payment in his account to take it out of suspension.

@Pat301  If you’re able to log into his account you can just update the credit card info with your own CC and continue the service . Otherwise I don’t think you will be able to do it unfortunately 

@Pat301  adding that’s said you if you can’t log into the account you can ask support if you can get help to log into it and keep the account
