I guess you can tell, by the responses you've received here, that the answer to your question is, "not very". As the others have said, you'd be better off checking which bands your phone has.

A small note about that: Band 1 is not used anywhere in Canada for cellular service.

@scapper1  The best way to do it is to check what bands your device supports. If it shows the following then you are good to go. (the ones in green are important)

 

3G: B2 and B5 (calls, texts and data)

LTE: B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13 (texts, data)

Your best bet is to check frequencies your phone had and compare them with telus/Bell

For taking you will need wcdma 850 and 1900

LTE would be b1,2,4,7... The more the better

If in doubt you can check with community for suggestions recommendation or feedback
