I am taking a month long vacation in the UK and want to put a UK SIM card into my Iphone to avoid roaming charges. Can i do this? If I have an unlocked phone I am told this is the best thing to do, but I don't know whether my phone is locked to PM. Can anyone tell me or how do I find out.

You should be good to do that - PM doesn't lock phones as far as I know bc until relatively recently you couldn't even get a phone with them and even now they are refurbished, so if you have been with PM for quite awhile you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Go to Settings > General, and tap About,
if you see this in , then it is unlocked
Carrier Lock No SIM restrictions
Also, another way to test if your iPhone is locked is to try to put an active sim from another provider like Rogers or Bell , if it works, then it confirms that the phone is unlocked
But most phone you got now in Canada should be fully unlocked
