Can I call my wife's number for free, as it is a public mobile number

Google hangouts dialer is another option similar to TextNow, free outgoing calls over wifi or data to USA and Canada, but allows you to use your public mobile line's caller ID instead of a new number like TextNow.

@BarryRand Incoming calls do use minutes on some specific plans, although not the ones that are currently available.

@BarryRand I'm also on the $15 plan. To save more,  you can add the TextNow app and use it over WiFi to make/ receive/ send calls and texts within Canada and to and from the US for free. You can also use it as I do to check my voicemail from my own phone without using the minutes from the PM plan. Simply dial your PM phone number - reject the call when it rings (this sends the call to voicemail) - press the * key to allow you to enter your password. - enter it followed by #  - and you are in your voicemail account - Hang up when you are finished. No minutes used.

Thanks for your prompt response.  At least there's no charge for incoming calls.😀

@BarryRand if you are on a limited minute plan, then no, it counts against your minutes. All calls made to any number, including your voicemail count. If your wife has unlimited minutes then text her and ask her to call you. Stay safe.

If you have any limited minute plan then it would consume those minutes. Otherwise, there's no family plan or favourites or whatever.

Call between PM number are not free.

If both of you have the $15 plan, the caller will be charged by the minutes.  Since the $15 plan has the unlimited incoming minutes, the party receiving call are included in the $15 plan.

Other higher value plans($25 and up) include unlimited call minutes.
