When I try to transfer my number for activation a pop-up advises me that it is not eligible. My current provider tells me that it is and I can't get into any other menu to allow me to cancel or restart.
So far the only part of the process that has worked well is my being charged for the first month.

If the pop-up appears from Public Mobile when you try to transfer it, then it might not be transferable. I could be wrong, but if the pop-up says so, it may not be eligible. You can try customer support but there are some numbers that are not portable
