Zero data coverage in Almonte / Mississippi Mills

TorontoTim
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

No issues when entering and leaving the area and signal showed a few bars of LTE, but on 2 different PM devices, there was zero data or voice coverage.  Tried resetting, rebooting, turning line off and on... having been in the telecom industry for 30 years with almost half spent working at TELUS this stumped me and we gave up.

No service of any kind in the Almonte / Mississippi Mills town area.

There is congestion on the sector serving that location. Do you know what band you were on? If it's low band that's likely why it's unusable. Low bands have less capacity.

My map was working only because I have offline maps loaded for when I venture into the woods.

This was in Ontario.  But yes in Chicago I force the connection to TMO or other carriers depending on where I am as the default selection often doesn’t work.

@Handy1 he's in Ontario, he's not roaming.

@TorontoTim do you know which site specifically is problematic (south or east of town)? I can try to take a look.

@TorontoTim  have you tried manually connecting to T mobile AT&T ? Some have said Verizon works in some parts of the U.S. could try that too . Or you have just found a dead spot in coverage regardless it’s not uncommon even back here at home in some rural areas
