Asus announced a new Zenfone today, the Zenfone 3 family:

Looks pretty sweet, epecially the base model.  I hope Staples decides to carry it [unlocked] in Canada like they have the Zenfone 2 and Zenfone 2 Laser, as it is a pretty tempting handset!  If it's approx 1.3 x $250 USD = approx $325 Canadian, that would be pretty sweet.

I would personarlly go for the delux with the more powerful cpu. I currently have the 2 laser and I'm fairly dissapointed by the performance in daily regular user (I don't have any games). My biggest problem with it is bluetooth playback to my car or any device, it skips about 1 or 2 times per minutes which is quite irritating. The camera recording can also be a bit gittery to say the least. On the plus side I like asus version of android.

They all certainly do sound like fantastic devices! I've been keeping tabs on those phones you've mentioned and they definitely offer great bang for buck value! (Especially the Zenfone 3)!

If I were to stay within the Android ecosystem I must admit I'd be fairly tempted by the Zenfone 3 Deluxe or even the Ultra.. I do enjoy using larger phones but it's fairly difficult to find a large screen device (preferably 6.0"+) with all of the features I would like to have.

But you're right, it is definitely a good time to be in the phone market! You have infinite choices based on your needs. 🙂

But then of course there's the upcoming Moto G4 Plus....

And the updated Moto X (or maybe Moto Z) that's rumoured to have a modular back, like the modular bottom on the LG G5.

And the ZTE Axon 7:

It's a great time to be in the phone market!
