I just moved from Koodo and my phone was connecting to LTE on Koodo but after entering the APN internet starts working but it is showing me 4G not LTE. Am I missing something here..The phone is set up in Network settings as LTE

There's your problem. Switching SIM back and forth. You need to remove your old SIM, do a soft reset and reinsert your new SIM after for the phone to properly register the provider info. If you don't reset, your phone still have traces of your old SIM registration.

I have a ZTE Zmax 2 unlocked from AT&T, started off originally listing as 4g but now states 4g LTE. I am sure it is just how strong the signal is. I wouldn't worry so much if it lists LTE or not as long as your internet is quick and responsive. You could always download a speed test app to identify how fast your speed is. My speed on my phone lists as 27Mbs which I am more than happy with. My home line only has 15Mbs which streams TV, 2 phones, and 1 computer all at the same time with no slow down so keep that in mind when looking at speed.

Dude, seriously, stop copy-pasting this answer whenever somebody asks the question. It is absolutely useless information and it doesn't help at all. Like really, at all.
The issue only arises because some phones/carriers have made the mistake to display 4G for HSPA. But Telus/PM doesn't have a 4G network and a LTE one. So you aren't solving OP's question at all, just showing that you know how to read wikipedia. People who ask this question wants to know if they are indeed getting LTE or if they are on 3G.
But please, please stop just posting this pre-written answer because it's irrelevant. You do this all the time.

Download the app "LTE discovery" and see if you are connected to a LTE tower when it shows 4G.
Most likely you are getting true 4G LTE and it is displayed as 4G. Which is correct, that's the way it should be. It should never show 4G if it's HSPA+, that should be 3G (or H+ on the phone I guess).
My guess? You are connected to LTE. It really depends on the phone. My OP3 shows LTE but my girlfriend has a phone that will always show 4G for LTE.

For me most of the time it's say LTE but sometime depend on the spot it's say 4G. I don't know if is the coverarge. But one things for sure 😛 We get just a fraction of Telus network so this might be the issue.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Yes, it is 4G all the time and reason that bothered me that it switches to LTE right away when I put in my Koodo SIM in it...

My OnePlus phone also shows 4G and when doing a speed test it is LTE speeds. Perhaps try a speed test to see.

Now, let's get into what 4G and LTE actually mean. We see these two all over advertisements from cellular providers. Many of us consider them two separate technologies, but in reality, LTE is actually a 4G technology in itself. Surprise! There is 4G and then there is 4G LTE.
4G stands for "Fourth Generation" which is the next step up from the previous 3G networks. It is much faster and with a greater capacity.
4G LTE stands for "Fourth Generation, Long Term Evolution" which is the purest form of the 4G technology. 4G LTE increases the network capacity and speed using different radios and other improvements. A redesign and simplification of the network architecture dramatically helped as well.
So, when searching for your favorite connected products, be aware that 4G and LTE are a part of the same family, but LTE is essentially the faster, more efficient, more powerful version.
Great! Now that you are up-to-date on this terminology, you can better understand exactly what happens when your devices connect to the internet and WiFi.
Might be a bad spot of your connectivity. Do you see all the time 4G or just in certain spots?
