Won't accept referral number

I am trying to sign up and put my friend's number in as a referral. For some reason the website says "The number entered does not belong to a valid Public Mobile Subscriber"

I know my friend's number works as it has been active on PM for at least 2 weeks. 

What can I do?

hm..ok. guess there is no other way about this.

They'll make it right one way or another. They might have to credit his account. It's a known issue, no way around it

I thought mods couldn't add a referral after the signup?

I'm pretty sure that's what happened, it's a terrible bug 🐜 we have here. You'll need to proceed without the referral for now and your friend will have to contact a mod to get it fixed. I know, it sucks.

I think it was a new number, then port the old one on top. i'll need to check.

Did he start with a new number and then port?
