What's the current situation? Just signed up. Had no idea it isn't offered. Saw some old community posts that said it's coming in 2024.

However; we have already switched another Public Mobile to Koodo for wifi calling need and is working really well. So now that has proven to be much better for us; I’ll be switching mine as soon as I have my the majority of my rewards redeemed.

all major mobile providers have 3 tiers.  Rogers has Fido and Chatr, Bell has virgin and Lucky and Telus has Koodo and Public Mobile

yes, you feel Koodo is "cheaper" , but these days, tier 2 providers like Koodo is almost like their Tier one except with cheaper plans.

Tier 3 like PM is the most basic, they offers only basic services , no extra goodies. So, no Wifi calling or no call screening.

Sorry to hear you just signed up and finding out the lack of wifi calling offered.

I'm a long time public mobile customer waiting for wifi calling that has not come. I'm currently cashing in my award points each month to bring them down to zero. Then switching up to the next tier with Telus (Koodo) so that I can resolve my ever changing weak/strong tower signal in the rural Red Deer area by using the wifi calling via existing Starlink.

I don't understand Telus' reasoning in positioning PM as their 3rd tier when Koodo frankly feels like a cheaper experience overall. PM seems to be what Telus puts up against Freedom Mobile and Freedom not only offers wifi calling but enable it when out of the country. Telus needs to re-think the 3 tier model entirely before Freedom and the like eat their pre-paid lunch.  I've switched 4 out of 5 family PM accounts to Freedom in the last 3 months and we've been with PM since 2017.

@wasabipea

PM does not have wifi calling.

If you have poor cellular signal in your location but have Wi-Fi, you could use an app like TextNow to phone out to other people. You can even call forward at your PM telephone number to your TextNow number and people can call you.

sorry @wasabipea , no Wifi calling for Public Mobile and I doubt it is coming any time

if you need it because of weak signal at home or at your usual places, you might want to consider to change to Koodo or Telus
