...saw all the promos that had been there disappear overnight, which was a risk we took in waiting...
- $20 referral gone
- SIM card promos of $10 aren't available in GTA, but available in Ottawa for some reason...
- $10 referral credit still available for new accounts
- free month still available
More than the above though, my existing account with Rogers has 29 days in it. I should wait for the month to expire as I assume Rogers isn't going to credit me for the lost days, correct? When i do the port, does it happen 'immitidately'?

@skanji as long as you're not on a contract with Rogers then don't worry about when you port over to PM. They'll pro rate your last bill based on the date you port your number over. There's no 30 day notice requirement. Unless you're on prepaid with Rogers, if that's the case then yes the timing of porting would matter if you don't want to lose the money you prepaid with them.
My opinion is wait until you see a decent offer from Public Mobile and then port over. Like you said you missed out on a bunch of them, if you're not in a rush then there for sure will be more coming. I usually tend to see deals during any holiday season, next one would be family week in February, or you might even see something for Valentine's. It would be worth it to wait in my opinion.

Yea the promos are ended for now.
If all goes well, porting is usually completed in a few minutes provided you entered all the correct info.
If your rogers was prepaid (pay as you go), there's no refund for your unused days. If you had rogers postpaid, your plan is prorated.
You can still get a SIM card for $7 on amazon. Or you can get it free at public mobile kiosks when you activate on the spot. Don't forget to use a referral code to get $10 credit added to your account.

Yes that's what i thought too @CannonFodder especially since they had some discounted on Amazon, so even if you are lucky to get free sim promotion, it's very useful to have an extra sim someplace handy. There was a link to amazon $7 sim or so. I'll post it here if i dig it out

Just do some math assuming there will be nothing for couple of months (I'm sure there will be, it may be short just a day or two outer weekend so you'll probably have to act fast and if online only promotion you'll need to get sim fast)
OR, if the OP is planning on jumping ship to PM, at some point, they could always pick up a SIM now, and hang on to it 'til such time as jumping ship is more beneficial..... not like the SIM is gonna rot in the meantime.

Is your Rogers postpaid? In that case they will prorate and pay difference. They will probably hold off yet Port or call you back soon after to get you to come back.
At this point you are looking at $10 referral and maybe free sim (not really public mobile but local store promotions).
If you search back the announcement area you will see that there are next cycle free, or 5g add-on or $10 off for 6 months and any combo of them as well as $25 referral for both parties. SO if you are not slaughtered by your current Rogers bill or if you didn't move to a area with nill Rogers coverage, you could wait it out I guess.
You can subscribe your email for promo notifications at the bottom of the page https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/plans
Just do some math assuming there will be nothing for couple of months (I'm sure there will be, it may be short just a day or two outer weekend so you'll probably have to act fast and if online only promotion you'll need to get sim fast) and calculate how much you are losing stating with Rogers for that time, if it exceeds the value of the promotion, maybe it's better to bite the bullet.
Or maybe decide to wait until the end of this Rogers cycle and if nothing happens by 3 days before your renewal, just go into Walmart store hoping they will have free sim. With referral that's still 20 bonus
Don't forget to have your referral with you, they don't have any at the stores.

Actually, unless your Rogers plan is prepaid, they should credit the unused days.

Also you will need to keep your Rogers account open during the porting process.

A few days before your Rogers plan is up you should activate Public Mobile and start the port process as Rogers account needs to be active and in good standing. Once the port is complete Rogers will close your account.
