just ignore that comment, the IMEI checker is accurate
just the $5 charge is a bit confusing at this point. Some has a VoLTE enabled device but still got the text
So what's the 100% accurate way to know if I'm going to get charged $5?
What phone is that?
If it is a Canadian model, it should work
But if course, since you have the phone with you, use the IMEI checker at the bottom of the page to confirm

Just know, that the Public Mobile's VoLTE checker as a guide only, as results are not always 100% accurate.
