Voice mail notification always on

When I call the voicemail number it says "you have no messages". The notification is on 24/7 and my phone (samsung s22) notifies me whenever I got cell signal back (e.g. exiting a subway station). It is annoying.

Any solution on disabling the notification (or disabling voice mail function altogether as I am not using it) is appreciated. I did setup a greeting and I tried the Extended Absence Greetings suggested in https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Get-Support/Disable-Voicemail/td-p/128858 but it didn't work for me.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago.  Problem seems to have gone away.

@tz35 - this is a recent article about stuck vm notifications on samsung. Does any of this help?

https://thecellguide.com/how-to-fix-stuck-voicemail-notification-on-android-156

It starts with -

"leave yourself a new voicemail. Then access your voicemail box and delete the message you left, and it will remove the notification."

But, if that doesn't work, is says for Samsung -

"Settings > More (4th tab on top) > Application Manager > All > Phone > select Clear Data under the storage section."

A few weeks ago, I noticed this as well. Voicemail notifications about new messages and updates to the phone to indicate that the messages were checked are sent by the carrier via SMS.  These were very badly delayed at one point for me, often with the icon taking about 3 hours to clear.  You can try calling yourself to leave a message and then check the messages.  That may clear the icon. However, I strongly suspect that all you can do is wait for it to clear on it's own.
