Is visual voicemail coming to all Public Mobile customers?

I don't disagree, but one factor here for iPhones is that VV will only be in effect for most users when they are not connected to the network - perhaps minutes to hours a month for most.  If you haven't disabled Live Voicemail on an iPhone and you are connected to the cell network, your inbound calls will never go to VV.

Given that most carriers in Canada charge for VV, I'm not sure that a $5 charge for "remnant VV" is worth it for most iPhone users.  Maybe it's time to make it a free feature, across all carriers?

I believe Visual Voicemail would also allow you to set a custom greeting instead of a generic one. They should just bring proper VV to all users. Not everyone is using an iPhone and even iPhone users will benefit.

I should also add, in case my other post doesn't show up, that the only thing "real" Visual Voicemail would add is the ability to have messages left when you don't have a connection show up in the same user interface. As is, on PM, if you don't have a connection, messages go to the normal PM voicemail.  If you do have a connection, they show up on your phone in the Visual Voicemail interface.

Unless you fly a lot or travel in areas with no cell coverage, there's really no need for Visual Voicemail now.

@softech  Weird - no links, no numbers.  If someone could approve it, it would be helpful for some since I've had the feature for a month thanks to beta versions.

Nothing stopping Google from implementing their own version of it - it's just a phone feature - but at this point, yeah, it's iOS-only.

It's not the traditional Visual Voicemail, but unless your phone is not able to connect to the network (e.g. it can't receive phone calls), voicemails are left in a user interface that looks EXACTLY like the Visual Voicemail interface, but also allows you to see what is being said while the message is being left, allowing you to screen calls.

no, it is not really the traditional Visual Voicemail that PM is enabling, it is just an Apple feature, Live Voicemail, that PM is adding to the features lineup  😞
