I have an iPhone 8+ on the most recent version iOS. All of my email accounts are Gmail.
When I go out I do the odd check on my mail.
1. Often I get a suspicious activity message from Gmail and my account won't work.
2. Email won't send...is stuck in outbox
Any know why..do I need to change my settings or?

I would configure Gmail again without automatic settings setup.
then you are able to set IMAP and SMTP servers and ports for incoming and outgoing mail servers.
Let us know the outcome.

I have made some changes but a lot were in place like imap. Yesterday went to Coquitlam centre and all my gmails are “out of order” with 10 suspicious activity messages. What a PITA.

"Another reason why Gmail may not be working on your iPhone or iPad is that IMAP (the technology Gmail uses to deliver mail to your device) may be disabled in Gmail's settings.
If IMAP is turned off on Gmail.com, you won't be able to get your email from the server."
You could also try to remove your Gmail from your iphone and then set it up again.

Yes I realize that and no blame to PM....just it here as I am using PM data.
You were able to use Gmail App on your phone at home, right? Google is smart enough to figure it out with a combination of device and IP to decide suspicious or not.
I don't use the gmail app....I used the Apple Email client so all my emails are in the one client. All my emails are gmail and one apple icloud account.
Do you use any VPN on any of your computer or phone?
No.
just wonder if that causes the suspicious warning.

Data on? Yes
App permission on? Use less secure app setting is on
Available data bucket? Meaning...do I have date left, yes
Data usage block? No..but in my switch in cellular was off for mail.....is now on!! I did a side by side set up of the the new phone and it missed that. And it also missed switching on allowing texts to go to iPad to.
Will see if that works but is a concern as my old phone did that too. But a good start of help here.

Gmail needs data to send and receive email. If you mobile APN is not configured correctly for PM data, your Gmail will not work.
If you join PM recently with your iPhone 8+, you may need to connect iTune running on a PC to update the carrier specific file for PM in order to setup the APN setting on your iPhone. Restart your iPhone after update. You are good to go.
Yes, iPhone does not let you change the APN setting.

Google is picky if you are changing phones/computers where from do you log in into it.
I get the same message (email) if I log in into Gmail from different PC, but never had an issue using gmail app on Android.

@CountyDownIeUk , suspicious activity shouldn't related with your PM. You were able to use Gmail App on your phone at home, right? Google is smart enough to figure it out with a combination of device and IP to decide suspicious or not.
