I live close to the usa border.
what happens when I pick up a usa (AT&T) .?
when I was with sasktel they would charge us roaming charges from the usa when picked up there towers while still in Canada.
But they would reverse charges.
what do I do for public mobility???

Just don't worry about it.
PM is service is all prepaid, so you can't be charged extra ever.

@Bmvanbese PM is prepaid, you have to buy the service before you use it, so no worry about roaming charge
But for your issue, an easy fix is to change the network selection from Automatic to manual, and select Public Mobile. Then the phone would not accidentally pick up US network at all
