Upgrading the subscription from 3G to 5G - need to change to the new SIM?

Hello community, 

I'm the old PM user currently on the old 3G plan. The 5G black Friday deal seems really a good deal to me.

If I would like to change my current plan from 3G to 5G, should I also buy a new SIM to get 5G network properly? 

My phone is Galaxy S22, so should be not a problem to get 5G, but just wondering if my old PM SIM (I bought this SIM in 2019 when I first joined PM) won't be compatible for 5G.

@GreatMadam No need to purchase a new SIM. The SIM is associated to your account and not your choice of plan. You can switch plans on a monthly basis if you wish all with the same SIM card 🙂

No you don't need a new sim.   I switched from 3G to 5G with the same sim, no problem.

You do not need to get a new card. The one you have will work fine.
