Unable to change to lowest plan ($10) - why not?

MyMobile

I am days away from my autorenewal and tried to change my plan to no anything ($10) because I am not using my phone for the next month. I selected the plan and then tried to hit update now and that didn't work so I hit update when renewal dates happens and that didn't work. So I removed my autorenewal and topped up manually $10 thinking that was the problem. No that either. So now I have removed autorenewal / my credit card / and can't get anything to change. HELP. What am I doing wrong. All I want is 30 days / no talk / no text / no data. I was happy to continue autorenewal on my credit card but I guess I messed that up. How do I unravel my little mess. Thank you.

@MyMobile you need to select one, talk text or data

Can not deselect all 3 options

Sorry, but there's never been any $10 plan at Public Mobile.  Any plan that you choose must include at least one of talk, text, or data.

It sounds like you don't really need to do anything if you removed autorenewal. You said already that you were unable to change your plan, so you are still on the same plan. You simply have a $10 balance which will be used when you will renew your plan after your trip. So when you want to renew your plan once you are back, just pay the difference to your plan from those $10 (so if your plan is say $65, you'll need to pay $55). Then when the plan renews, you can add autorenewal again, so you don't have to keep track of when you need to do a payment.

I would contact a moderator and explain the situation to them. That's probably the easiest way when it comes to account-related stuff.

@MyMobile Selecting no talk, text or data is considered as invalid plan and that is why you are unable to change to that plan. As mentioned above, you would just want to remove AutoPay and let the account sit on Expired status. It can stay like that for upto 90 days before you lose your account and your number. Good thing about this is that it lets you keep your plan as long as you renew within 90 days 🙂

@MyMobile, you actually can't even get a $10 plan.  The lowest cost plan is $20, for 30-day, no voice, no data, global text only.

If you're just looking to not pay for upto 90 days, simply remove the autopay credit card.

Just remove the autorenewal and don't let the plan renew. This way you will have 90 days to pay for your plan before it is permanently deactivated, and you don't need to pay even the $10 to keep it alive.

You can take out auto renewal by not renewing by the payment due date, leave it in suspend status, and then reactivate it when you come back because you have 90 days after the payment due date before your account is deactivated. Plan Deactivation.png
