Is the US/Can package usable in the US or do you need an add on ?

That plan gives coverage in both Canada and the US. Unlimited calling to/from Canada and the US, unlimited texting from Canada and the US to anywhere in the world, and 40GB of 4G data for use in both Canada and the US.

Just make sure you have Network Selection set to Automatic on your phone, and Data Roaming turned On. If you do that it's completely seamless, and no add-ons are required.

Note that roaming is dependent on native TMobile coverage, and as such there is no roaming service in Alaska.

That's exactly what it's for. Seamless use going to and from the US and Canada.
