Trouble making calls while outside Canada

My wife and I recently signed up for Public Mobile and have a Canada/US/Mexico plan. We are now in Mexico and connected to a local network but neither of us are able to make calls - we get a 5B1 error. However, we can receive calls, can send/receive texts, etc.. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it? Thank you!

hi @SR6 

are you trying to call back Canada?  Try all these ways to call Canadian and US number when you are in Mexico.  (Some confirmed only one of these ways work for them, so really try them all)

• +1 <area code> <7 digits>
• 001 <area code> <7 digits>
• 00+1 <area code> <7 digits>   (key is to use a + in between the 00 , actual dial the plus sign, it does not mean concatenation)
•  00 1 <area code> <7 digits>
