My wife currently has an account with Bell and would like to join Public Mobile. Do we have to contact Bell and terminate the account before joining up with Public Mobile

You can port your Bell # to PM at selfserve ,make sure your Bell account # and your name match exactly and the rest leave it blank and you good to go.
Porting a number over typically happens quite quickly, but be aware that it sometimes can take a short while to process.
Once the port is complete, your old account from Bell will be automatically canceled and you will be able to use the same phone number as normal, just with PM.
Welcome to Public Mobile!

No, do NOT terminate her account with Bell if she is looking to move her number over to PM. In order to port her number, her old account must be active. When you port it will automatically close her Bell account.

You need to keep your Bell account open then once your phone# is ported over to PM it will be automatically closed.

No @Leland123 the Bell account must be active to transfer/ port her number. The port will close it once its complete. Just remove your autopay credit card before you port and make sure the phone is unlocked before leaving.
