Is there a way to transfer a number (e.g. Number A) from one existing PM account to a different one (e.g. Plan A -> Plan B)? I was thinking I could transfer Number A to a pay as you go service provider before transferring to Plan B.
Appreciate any help!

Here are my thoughts....and I assume your mom doesn't really have many rewards on her pm account because taking over your account is much better. Since your number is in the telus family this may be possible but you have to talk to telus about doing this....your partner either already has a telus share plan or you two will be getting one.
Ask telus if they will retrieve your phone number the moment its released from pm. Port your mom's number to the share plan account. Then if telus agrees to retrieve your number port your mom's number into your pm account which then pm releases your number into the telus hold number pool. Telus retrieves your number to put on the share plan.
Share plans are postpaid so the plan cost prorated for your mom for one day is minimal. I have a couple of telus sim cards that are of no use to me. I will mail you one ( or if you are in Vancouver....) so you dont have to buy a sim card for your moms brief tenure with telus. Then everyone gets what they want....telus gets another "higher paying" customer from their bargain basement provider, you get the share plan and your number and your mom gets your plan and rewards from pm.
Pm could transfer the number but they won't because they are third tier but telus is first tier and they want you as a customer so their customer service should be willing to go the extra mile to get you as a customer......and fish your number out of the pool as soon as it's released.
If telus is willing then private message me and we can arrange how to get you the telus sim card.

It can but it would take a little work and a little luck. Let me check something first then I will explain. You still have a great pm plan with full speed 4G LTE and $10 in monthly rewards. It would be a shame to lose it.

Yes she is and my number was originally a Koodo number. I'm planning to switch to Telus if that makes a difference

So your mom is a pm customer too? Your phone number...is it originally a pm/koodo/telus number?

Did not know that - if that's the case then it's moot. I'm planning to switch to a couples plan with my partner with Telus and was hoping my mom could take advantage of the deal I have ($120/3month for 12gb LTE data - comes out to only $30/month with my rewards)

You do know if you transfer out a number, the account will be closed, don't you?

The basic answer is no. But if you tell us a little more info maybe we can find a work around.

I think the question needs to be asked if @atyxiao needs to keep both Public Mobile numbers.

Some people have suggested porting the number to a voip like Fongo (cost $25) then port back to PM.

Sorry, but Public Mobile does not allow a phone number from one Public Mobile account to be transferred to another Public Mobile account.

Unable to port from one PM number to another PM number. (ie. Plan A to Plan B)
You can port to another carrier, then back to Public mobile.
