I have an account with Public Mobile already, and my died, so I just bought a new unlocked phone and want to use my current sim card in that and keep my phone number of xxx-xxx-xxxx with that new phone. I popped in my sim card to the new phone and followed the set up instructions, but when I try to make a call it says no service. what do I have to do. I want to stay with Public Mobile, but this is very frustrating. account#10000-00xxx-xxxxx sim card # xxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxx.

I tried that but the phone number for the sim card has changed. My phone number used to start with 587 and now it starts with 780.Any idea how that happens and how I can change it back?

If your new phone isn't working with your old SIM card, it might be because the new phone isn't compatible with Telus/PM. To continue using the service on a compatible phone, all you need to do is insert the old SIM card into the new phone. No account changes are required.

@jf13 , to continue to use the service in your new phone, all you needed to do was put the old SIM card into the new phone. No account changed are required. Since it appears the new SIM card did not get updated, you should try using the old SIM card to see if it still works.

log in to the acct to confirm if its still an active acct. That sim should work right away otherwise.
