I will purchase a iPhone 17. Since they don’t offer solid sim slots anymore, while my current iPhone uses a SIM card. How do I transfer from SIM to eSIM on the next phone?

To transfer your SIM to an eSIM for an iPhone 17, first contact your current mobile carrier to see if they support eSIM transfers or offer a carrier app. On your new iPhone, you can then transfer your plan directly from your old phone during initial setup or later by going to Settings > Mobile Data > Add eSIM and selecting the "Transfer From Nearby iPhone" option. Follow the on-screen prompts on both phones to confirm the transfer, and your old physical SIM will be deactivated when the eSIM activates on your new device.
If your carrier supports eSIM transfers via the Settings app:
On your new iPhone (iPhone 17): Go to Settings > Mobile Data (or Cellular).
Select Add eSIM: and choose to Transfer from Nearby iPhone.
On your old iPhone: You'll receive a prompt to confirm the transfer. Tap Transfer or enter the verification code shown on your new iPhone, if asked.
Follow the prompts: on the new iPhone to activate your mobile plan. Your old SIM will be deactivated.
If your carrier supports it but you missed the setup:
On your new iPhone: Go to Settings > Mobile Data (or Cellular).
Tap Set Up Cellular or Add eSIM .

Follow the instructions: to complete the transfer process.
If you need to use your carrier's app:
Download your carrier's app: from the App Store on your new iPhone.
Follow the instructions: within the app to activate or transfer your eSIM.

Contact your carrier: and request an eSIM activation using a QR code or manual entry.
On your new iPhone: In Settings > Mobile Data (or Cellular), tap Add eSIM.
Follow the prompts: to enter the details manually or scan the QR code they provide.
Important Considerations:
Contact your carrier first:
This is the most crucial step to determine their specific process for transferring from a physical SIM to an eSIM on a new device.
Wireless Connection:
Both iPhones will need to be on the same Wi-Fi network to complete the transfer between devices.
Activation Time:
The mobile plan will be activated on your new iPhone and the physical SIM will be deactivated simultaneously.

Download the PM app on your new phone, login and go to Account page, click Purchase sim card and choose esim from there

Congrats. 

When you get your new phone, you have to download the public mobile app to the phone.

Go to purchase Physical SIM card purchase eSIM,  pay the $5.00 and it will automatically transfer your existing phone number to your new phone.
