@Willy9 if you are existing subscriber with new sim card , you just have to follow what I said about updating sim card number on My Account
if you are new subscriber with porting. You can wait until the old carrier sim card not working anymore, then you can change to PM sim

Your question was, "When do I insert my sim card".
That's an easy question. When you've downloaded the app and have fully signed up, you may then insert your sim card into your phone and then just reboot it. If you don't have connection after the reboot, you may need to reset your network settings and then reboot. That will connect you to the network.
