Signal strength

I'm in the beaches area of Toronto, and the signal strength has dropped within the past week, for me and my family (I'm on a galaxy S23, and they're on iphones). Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, knows what might be going on, and if this is a local or wider issue.

I've been with Public, and lived at this location for many years and never had an issue, hoping it's a short term problem.

Thanks!

hi @Wadder

don't put your hope of Wifi Calling, I doubt it will come here anytime soon

Update:

I talked to a customer service agent and he said that my issues are likely the result of the 3G network being shut down.

Fingers crossed that Public will enable wifi calling. I guess we'll use whatsapp in the basement for now and look at other carriers that have wifi calling in the meantime. Hopefully Public can resolve this issue, I've been happy with the service for years and would rather not switch.

Thanks again!

hi @Wadder

is the weak signal location specific?  do you have another phone to test in that location?

Thank you for the advice.  I tried switching to LTE and 3G for a while, but there's been no change.  The signal drops to one bar, or even no bars, and have had dropped calls in parts of the house where this never used to happen (been with Public for years).  I'm going to try and reach a customer service agent - I have my fingers crossed that there is some work being done in the area and that it will resolve itself soon.

Thanks again!

Weak signal as in 1 or 2 bars ? But that might not affected service

Do you get more drop cals or data not stable?

Try just connect to 4G or LTE or just connect on 5G as well
