Shifting cities in BC

Hi! I'm having to shift from Vancouver to Kelowna and I was wondering if I'd have to change my number or not (which starts with the 236 area code) so that I don't get charged any unnecessary long-distance charges.

@surgee

Its only an issue for people calling you from a landline or an older cell phone plan. The vast majority of cellphone plans come with Canada wide calling or at the very least provincial calling.

@surgee   No.  All plans are either Canada-Wide Calling or Provincial Wide Calling.  Since you are moving within BC, no matter which plan you have, you won't got charged extra like that

It is more if you have friends in Kelowna that might got charged when calling your exiting area code.  Most cellular plans won't but some older landline plan might
