Please don't cancel your previous provider if you want to keep your number. Public mobile will do it for you when you transfer number over

@Daisy123 If you are asking if you can transfer your existing PM SIM (?) to a new phone and keep both your number and use the old SIM, then the answer is yes.
After re-reading your post, it looks like you want to port in from a different carrier to PM, then as mentioned earlier you will need a new PM SIM but can port in your old number to PM but will need moderators assistance to facilitate the port.

@Daisy123 you need to buy a new PM SIM ( Good deal, you can buy them online for $5 https://store.publicmobile.ca/cart ) and a unique email address for each PM account. You can port your number, unless it's Koodo prepaid, which requires Moderator ( customer service here) help to port. See article on what is needed to activate https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/what-you-need-to-activate and to port https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/choose-your-phone-number .
Please note, your account must be active to transfer/ port it over to PM.

1. You cannot use a SIM card which was activated before.
2. You can port your old number to PM.

You would need to purchase a PM sim but you can port your phone#. You would need to keep your other providers account active and submit a ticket.here https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 to send a private message to the moderators. I suggest using Port Request as the title of the message. PM is currently short staffed so it may take a little longer.
