Service never worked

I subscribed to public mobile to use while I was out of the country and it never worked the whole time I was away. I was also given a promo code and it said it was applied but the $10 was never actually removed from the charge. I would like my money back but can’t get through to anyone to talk to.

Thank you, I just sent the message I hope it works. I’m trying to have my number transferred back but the only way to confirm is through text but my number isn’t working!

@AmandaHickey   It's odd that it didn't work, and still doesn't work in Canada?  You're probably best to contact Public Mobile customer service.  Send them a private message using this link

I was in the US traveling from Canada. I somehow transferred my own number and that is proving to be a big problem. Trying to figure out how to get it transferred back but the only option is they’ll text me and they can’t text me since my number doesn’t work.

Were you able to actually talk to someone? I’ve been trying to get through to public mobile I don’t even care about the fact that my phone didn’t work but I somehow transferred my number over and now I’m trying to transfer it back, the only option is they’ll text you with the confirmation but I can’t receive text messages so I don’t know what to do

@Keithfo   Actually 3G in the USA shut down in 2022.  For non-VoLTE approved (with PM) phones like yours you may have been able to make voice calls using T-Mobile's 2G network which still exists in some areas of the USA but is also currently being shut down.  Even so, you should still  have been able to use data and texting.  For voice calls with a non-VoLTE phone a workaround is to download a voip app like TextNow or Fongo to use over data or wifi.

There is no more $15 plan which is why we in the community usually suggest a roaming add on instead, if you will want to switch back.  So customer service may not be able to help you there.  If you want to try for a refund you will need to contact customer service again.

I changed my plan from a $15. Basic plan to the $30. 20GB CAN/US Base Plan. Once in the US, I could  not get the phone to work. I was in touch with Public numerous times over the following few weeks, trying various methods to get it to work. FINALLY, after too many attempts, I heard from someone who actually knew what he was talking about. I did not know that 3G networks stopped working in the US about a month before. My phone was an iPhone 6 and, apparently, they work on 3G only. Now, how do I get my old plan back and a refund for the $30/month I paid for a plan and phone I could not use??????

@AmandaHickey   Where were you out of the country? Public Mobile only works in Canada, or the US with a Canada-US plan or add on, and Mexico with a Canada-US-Mexico plan.  As for the promo code, was this a referral code?
