I've got some friends that might want to sign up for Public Mobile but they are wondering if they can get any Tower service around the West Hawk Lake by the Manitoba/Ontario border. Has anyone here been in that area and what was your experience.? Apparently, people that had Rogers didn't have any service there (but that might have been corrected by now). Thx

You can download an app like Tower Locator Canada and compare the locations of the different towers by the different carriers in your area.
I also use the app Signal Strength to get a more accurate signal value in dbm rather than try to compare bars.
Good luck.

It would appear that the West Hawk Lake area is serviced by Bell towers which are compatible with Telus and its Koodo + Public Mobile brands

Hey @Fay4
Winnipeg here. I travel out to Kenora and Dryden often and with Public Mobile, it works off the Telus network. I have full bars with Public Mobile and while my Rogers, at the time had 1 to zero. At the time I had both Rogers and Public Mobile. Public Mobile for sure works in that area. Hence the reason I dumped Rogers.
Here, enter West Hawk Lake and you'll see "Available Coverage".

EDIT: If you guys go there this summer, drive a little further and check out Dixie Lake Scenic View. Google it. One of my most favorite spots. Great place to fish off the rocks, go swimming, there is a camp fire pit there, washrooms....
