I was wondering if anyone else received spam text messages on their PM phone number today?
Both my wife and I received texts that say, "You will probably quit your job after watching this turnprogram.com" The link brings you to a "CANUCK METHOD" page. I'm in Ontario and the two numbers that phoned were (815) 527-0315 and (269) 442-0177.
Are all PM numbers affected, or just certain regions? Thanks!

Hi @daredogg!
I can also confirm that I have never received any spam messages. I am in Ontario as well.
I second @JaK, this is related to your numbers going into the wrong hands.. i.e. contact list of a person who has both your numbers getting hacked.
Those 2 numbers you got sms from naturally wouldn't be from your contact list.. those are most likely fake/temp numbers from the internet that the virus/hacker used to spam people.

There are services that will allow you to send SMS texts from your computer, which a virus could exploit. The numbers used could be spoofed to cover their tracks somewhat. But anyway, just a theory, maybe others will report similar spam as well.

Actually... wait! The two numbers, (815) 527-0315 and (269) 442-0177 are not anyone I know, so I don't know if the virus theory holds up.

Just seems somewhat odd because when I was with Telus we didn't get spam texts. I've only been with PM for a week, so that's why I wondered if PM's network was possibly attacked?
I didn't realize a computer virus could cause cellphone numbers to be spammed! I just never thought about that.

Hi @daredogg;
I'm also in Ontario (Ottawa) and did not get that spam. I would think that rather than being a PM thing it is more likely that someone who has both your numbers in their contact list just picked up a virus.
