I am only getting ‘SOS’ since last night, I tried turning my phone on and off, placing my SIMS card in an old phone (didn’t work), updating my phone.
sims card doesn’t look damaged at all.

This happened to me, so brace yourself. Your phone number has been stolen via your SIM. Hopefully one of the reps from Public see your message and get back to you. My issue is still not resolved and it is going on 6 days since my number was stolen. Public says it will take them 72hrs to fix the problem, so I have my fingers crossed that they will have this fixed today. If they do not I will be calling CCTS to report this very poor system Public has. I would check your bank accounts, emails and other accounts, because now that they have access to your phone number they can do two step verifications to get into things like your bank accounts. Sorry you are going through this, it really sucks, but no call center is because they only charge $40 a month for their service or lack there of.
