SMS not working internationally

I’m in Brazil and I’m not able to get or receive SMS even though I have WiFi and data from a local carrier (separate SIM). Has any had a similar problem? Were you able to resolve it?

OP in Brazil already.   While she can use TextNow anywhere in the world, but she won't be able to setup TextNow at this point in Brazil.  TextNow has to be setup before the trip when still in US or Canada before it can be used elsewhere in the world

You can use VoIP app like TextNow if you have wifi or data. WhatsApp also will work but all parties will also need this app.

@ILRose , if you have text set to RCS format, you would be able to receive/send text sent via RCS format.  Note that 2FA codes do not use RCS format and will not work.

unfortunately it is normal.  PM has no roaming services other than US and Mexico.  So, you won't get any SMS or data

if you need to receive 2FA, you need to receive via email while you travel
