The phone was locked when we first downloaded public network. It is now unlocked but we still cannot get phone to connect to public mobile network.

Check in your settings under: For iPhone- Cellular>Network Selection. It should show Public Mobile.
For Android-Connections>Mobile networks>Access Point Name. Again it should show Public Mobile.
Did you port over from another carrier with the locked phone? You need to keep the old SIM in the phone and wait for a text to confirm you are porting over then power off the phone and put the PM SIM in the phone.
If neither are the issue, you will have to contact the moderator on the SIMon Chat bubble and ask to contact a moderator.

OK, from the beginning:
Please provide a bit of background on what you've done.
If you went through the complete activation, were you porting a number from another cell provider, or did you choose a new number with Public Mobile?
See this information article on porting numbers from/to other carriers:

Now seeing your both of your threads about the same issue, I wondering if your phone might be set to 2g mode or it it just doesn't have 3g capabilities. If it doesn't, you won't be able to use this device at Public Mobile.

@skscott59 : Which make/model/submodel is the phone? Did it come from Rogers/Fido/Chatr? Can you set the networks to scan automatically?

You've probably already tried restarting your device? There could be a temporary network issue.

Try rebooting your phone. Also try removing sim and reinsert it. If you have another phone then try swapping the sim.
