SIM card isnt working

I bought a SIM card for my dad and activated an account. We initially tried to transfer over his old number but then just ended up getting a new one. I put the SIM card in his phone about 2 hours ago and it’s not working, it just says no service. I tried restarting the phone a couple times and even tried putting his SIM card in my phone. Nothing is working.

Yes I am aware that they are two different things. Once I got the SIM card I logged in and paid for a monthly plan. When I log in to the account now it says it is activated

When you made an account - I am assuming this is when you placed an order with a plan selected with a physical sim to be mailed, that's different from the activation. Try login into the PM account. There should be activate once logged in.

I made him a PM account, selected a plan and paid for it. It should definitely by activated.

It sounds like the activation has not gone through yet. If you ordered the physical sim through Public Mobile website, you will have to activate it in PM app or Public mobile website once you get the sim before start using it.
