SIM card Not working

My Sim Card doesn't work. I am using it on a different phone but this phone is unlocked and brand new. it says NO SIM CARD- Emergency only. What should I do?

Based on the solution I am assuming your phone is blacklisted? Did you buy it used (kijiji, etc.)
