SIM Card Not Recognized

I have an iphone 6 that was set up and working with the PublicMobile sim card. It was unlocked. It had previously been a work phone so the employer asked for it to be returned to ensure it was wiped of any information related to the employer. Although it had been factory reset, they performed another, and returned it to me. When I put the card in, the message says there is no sim card. I tried rebooting a couple of times and still get the same message. Again, the phone is unlocked and the SIM card has worked before. My account status also says it is active. Can you help.

Good to hear that it is working now somewhat.  You can buy a new SIM card from either online, vendors like Walmart, London Drugs, WOW mobile, some authorized Koodo dealers.

It could be a problem with the SIM card or maybe a problem with your SIM card slot on your phone.  If you can, try your PM SIM card on another phone to see if it works okay....  Good luck....

Thanks for your help. Phone software and carrier software is up to date. It is working now but has dropped SIM card a couple of times. If it does it again I assume it is a defective SIM card. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply. We did get it to work by reseating the SIM card. It dropped recognition again and so we set it again very carefully. It is working but has been for only a few minutes. If it drops again, I am thinking SIM card is defective. If it is, do I go back to PM dealer to purchase another? Thanks again.

Definitely try the suggestions above. Not sure if it would help, but you might also check if your iPhone is completely up to date.

@Ghdraper

Have you tried putting your SIM card into another phone to determine whether it is an issue with the SIM card/public mobile versus your hardware/iphone?  Probably already tried removing the SIM and replacing it back into slot....
