Roam Mobility

US roaming options for longer stays.  Saw that roam mobility offers monthly and three month plans.  They are on the expensive side but are an option if you need mobile service for an extended period of time.

Well they market to snow birds so a 6 month inactivity expiry would not be too well thought out. Ideally 1 year but maybe 10 months to just barely work for those who only go south for a couple of months.

@will13am for short trips (like an overnighter or a weekend/long-weekend away in the USA), they can still be cheaper at $5 a day for unlimited calling, texting, and a HALF GIG (yes, 512MB per day) of full-speed LTE data.  There are two main drawbacks as I see it:

1) you have to use a US-based phone number.  So, while your'e away, you have to share that number to anyone you want to be able to reach you.  And they would pay any long distance (if applicable to their own plan) due to dialing a US number to reach you.

2) the SIM card expires after a certain period of non-use.  I believe it's after 6 months without buying any futher days, but do check as I know it changed a couple of times in the past.

@darlicious

Yes but their TV commercials are somewhere between obnoxious and moronic. I haven't decided which option BEST describes them yet.

If you go frequently and/or stay longer why not get TextNow sim. Buying the sim for 10 will keep your number and you will have unlimited roaming coast to coast all for free, if you want data you can upgrade the plan

@Triguy @gblackma

   Mint mobility offers much more affordable options for longer stays with three month introductory offers for as little as $15/4gb per month including texting and unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada.
